Anthem Blue Cross Health Care Plans in Connecticut

Most of the Anthem Blue Cross health insurance plans are "open access". This means you can visit any doctor in the provider network, without the need to get a referral from your primary doctor. There are 3 types of health plans with Anthem Blue Cross: 1. HMO Plans 2. Upfront Deductible Plans and 3. HSA Compatible Plans.Only one Anthem health plan provides coverage for maternity. 1. HMO Plans: The Anthem HMO plan is referred to as BlueCare. This plan has low copayments for doctor visits and prescription drugs. This medical plan has a larger payment for hospital stays and outpatient surgery. View Plans, Rates, and Quotes here

2. Up front Deductible Plans: These Anthem health plans are referred to as Century Preferred Plans. There are 2 types: the 80/20 plan and the 100 plan. These plans have a calendar year deductible that must be met before the plan pays for medical care. Once you have paid the "up front deductible" and or coinsurance, you have 100% coverage for doctors, hospitals, and medical services. 3. HSA Compatible Plans: These plans are called Lumenos Plans. These plans are like the up front deductible plans above, but have 1 major difference. With prescriptions, the yearly deductible must be met before the Anthem health insurance will pay for prescriptions drugs. See Plans rates and Quotes here

4. Prescription Drug Coverage: Precription Drug coverage is optional on some of Anthems Health Plans. Some plans allow you to use Prescription Drug coverage before the deductibles.
